Planned MCP server for Fortinet FortiGate
Planned enterprise MCP server for Fortinet FortiGate, then FortiManager, on the mecmcp foundation. Under construction: no working code yet.
About
rustfortimcp will be the Fortinet member of the mechub MCP server family: a curated, scoped, audited MCP surface over FortiOS (and later FortiManager), built on mecmcp like rustjunosmcp and rustpanosmcp.
It is under construction and not operational. It has no working code yet and is on hold until a FortiGate lab device is available.
Features
- Phase 1: FortiOS REST v2 with API tokens only; reads for system status, policies, address and service objects, routes and sessions
- Phase 1 writes limited to firewall policy and address objects through mecmcp change sets (plan, digest, human approval, apply)
- Phase 2: FortiManager JSON-RPC, covering ADOMs, policy packages and install-to-device
- All device and API output, including error text, must be redacted through mecmcp-redact
